TRAINING COURSES
The Institute aims to foster dialogue between academic, industrial and social communities by organizing seminars and lecture series on European topics as well as the following training courses for officials from public and private institutions:
- Preparatory courses for EU selection competitions

In view of the new selection procedures managed by EPSO for European officials, the Institute intends to launch a number of courses that will be provided according to the publication of notices of competition in the different fields.
The structure and methodology of each course will take into account the new features relating to each competition.
In order to convey participants the theoretical and practical tools to cope with the selection procedures, courses will include classes, practical exercises, simulations and working groups
- European Union Programmes and Projects

Courses (4 full days each) are organised by the European Documentation Centre and are intended for participants coming from public or private corporations who need to acquire a knowledge of EU Management of Structural Funds, the Principle of the Project Cycle Managment (PCM) and the Logical Framework. The courses adopt a practical approach with exercises and activities in order to give the participants information on forms, strategies and management of the projects.
- Training course on public procurements

In order to provide participants with a better understanding of this topic, the Institute intends to offer a two-day course on public procurements system including the recent legal developments in EU and Italian legislation. In particular, the course will focus on the procedures, the contracts, the tools and the accounting standards relevant to public procurements.
- Training course on State Aid

This course aims to deepen knowledge on the efficacy, the legitimacy and the compatibility of State aids according to the national and the EU law. The legal system concerning State aids is analysed and a special attention is given to the changes occurred in the EU legislation due to the economic crisis.
- European Documentation

Courses are organised by the Institute European Documentation Centre. A practical, operative approach with demonstrations of simulated on-line searches is used to show participants how to conduct their own searches for EU legislation, documents and official publications, and also how to interrogate databases and surf the EU sites.
- Training courses for Region of Piedmont officials

Under the terms of an agreement concluded with the Region, the Institute prepares all the modules on European topics used for training its staff. In addition to subjects of a general and institutional nature, several more specific matters are covered, such as EU legislation and regulations concerning forms of aid and structural funds, competition, regional policy, consumer protection, employment and social affairs, European citizenship.
